SVENSKA: Gårdagen blev den bästa så här långt. Joyce hade nästan ingen feber, var alert och kunde prata som vanligt utan att vara så svag som hon varit ända sedan vi kom hit och behandlingen startade. Idag har hon drygt 38 i feber men så har hon inte fått något febernersättande heller. Man vill låta kroppen jobba med nerkämpandet av vad som kan vara kvar av infektionen. Såret ser mycket friskare ut idag och behandlingen med antibiotika och transfusion av vita blodkroppar fortsätter. Tydligen är det denna kombination som hjälpt henne framåt.
ENGLISH: Yesterday turned out to be the best day this far. Joyce had almost no fever, was alert and could talk like her old self without being as weak as she has been ever since we came here and the treatment started. Today she is running a fever of 101 but then she has not gotten anything to take it down either. They want her body to work on battling what is left of the infection. The wound looks healthier today and the treatment with antibiotics and transfusion of white blood cells is continuing. Apparently this is the combination which has helped her forward.
