SVENSKA: Provtagningarna idag gav både goda och dåliga nyheter. Värdet av neutrofila leukocyter fortsätter ligga på 0,6 vilket får som konsekvens att Joyce mår bra även om hon är fortsatt svag. Hon blev också utskriven från avdelningen och kommer så länge hon mår som hon gör just nu att komma tillbaka till öppenavdelningen två gånger i veckan för provtagning. Så länge hon mår bra och inte drabbas av infektioner kan hon vara kvar hemma.
Den dåliga ”nyheten” är att hon fortfarande har leukemi. Än så länge är ingen behandling av grundproblemet aktuell, hon har ju inte svarat på två kraftiga cellgiftsbehandlingar. Hur lång tid hon har kvar är en helt öppen fråga – de har ju aldrig tidigare behandlat någon i Sverige eller Europa med denna variant av sjukdomen. Vi är nu tacksamma för varje timme och dag vi får ha varandra och måste nu ta ”blott en dag ett ögonblick i sänder.”

ENGLISH: The tests today brought both good and bad news. The level of Neutrophil Leucocytes are still at 0,6 which has the result that Joyce is doing pretty good even if she is weak still. She was also released from the ward and will, as long as she continues to do as good as she is at the present, continue to go back to the hospital for tests twice a week. As long as she is doing OK and does not come down with a serious infection she can live at home.
The bad “news” is that she still has Leukemia. Thus far no further treatments are scheduled since her body has not responded to the two chemo-treatments she has received thus far. How long she has to live is an open question – since they have never treated her version of the disease in Sweden or Europe before. We are grateful for each hour and day that we get to be together and must now just look to the Lord for His presence “Day by day, and with each passing moment”.
