SVENSKA: Under gårdagen var Joyce riktigt pigg igen för första gången på riktigt länge. I morse hade hon ingen feber men senare började den klättra igen. Just nu (10:10) är den nere igen efter att hon fick sin Alvedon-tablett (febernedsättande) för en timme sedan. Preliminärt svar på odlingarna tagna natten Joyce kom tillbaka i ambulans visar att hon har stafylokocker i blodet. Därför får hon nu annan antibiotika ett tag framöver. Läkarna är dock glada över att hon trots allt inte haft några riktigt läskiga infektioner så här långt in i behandlingen – hon har trots allt inget eget immunförsvar just nu till följd av cellgiftsbehandlingen. Böneämne: att inte infektionen etablerar sig kring nya CVK:n.

More alert and apetite back yesterday

ENGLISH: Joyce was rather alert and felt fairly good yesterday for the first time in quite a while. This morning she had no fever but later it started climbing again. At the moment (10:10 AM) it is back down again after receiving her paracetamol pill (fever reducing medicine) an hour ago. Preliminary results, from the cultures taken the night when she was brought back in the ambulance, show that she has staphylococcus bacteria in her blood. Therefore she will be getting a different brand of antibiotics for a while. The doctors are glad though that Joyce has not had any really scary infections this far into the treatment – after all Joyce has no immune system of her own right now due to the chemo she has gone through. Prayer: That the infection does not establish itself around her new CVC.
