SVENSKA: Dramatisk natt. Joyce fick mer och mer feber ju längre kvällen led. Vid midnatt var den uppe i 40,3 C och hon kunde inte ta sig för egen maskin till toaletten, benen vägrade bära henne. I det läget ringde jag avdelningen som rekommenderade att vi skulle ringa efter ambulans så hon kunde komma tillbaka till sjukhuset. Så vid 01:00 kom ambulansen och hämtade henne. Febern fortsatte dock och vid 04:00 var den 40,5 C efter att frossan äntligen lagt sig. Nu är den nere igen på mer normal nivå och Joyce har ätit frukost. Just nu sover hon – inte att undra på som natten såg ut!

ENGLISH: Dramatic night. Joyce got more and more fever the further into the night we got. At midnight her fever was up at 104, 5 F and she could not even make it to the bathroom, her legs just flat out refused to carry her. At that point I called the staff at ward 83 at USÖ to get advice and they told me to call the ambulance so she could return to the hospital again. So at 01 AM the ambulance arrived and picked her up. The fever continued to stay high in spite of medication and at 04 AM and in the hospital it reached 104, 9 F after her fever shivering fit had finally subsided. Now it is back to more normal levels and Joyce has just had breakfast. Right now (09:50 AM) she is sleeping – no wonder after a night like that!
